Aliezah is an L.A. native, big surprise. She has all the items one needs for a cold day: a jacket, a hat, and good shoes; but each object has a thought out color or shape. Her jacket was bought at a thrift store and the hat in Pennsylvania (or another place starting w a P). Her entire outfit consists of cold colors that match this particular rainy SLC day. But like a little treat after dinner, she has a rhinestone hello kitty necklace that peaks out bringing a carefree sentiment to the outfit.
p.s. Did you locals know that Utah has many good thrift stores? In other states and cities prices would be double for the same items found here, so take advantage of our hidden gems.

I am always astounded that more people dont snatch up the cute stuff in the thrift stores here. God and for dirt cheap too! I was just down in the Haight District this summer, and by God did they have expensive stuff....we really are fortunate...
its true L.A. is completlly picked clean.
It's not true. Los Angeles is one of the most remarkable places to shop, particularly vintage and thrift stores. I find the thrift stores are just as affordable as Deseret Industries, but with more clothing turnover which means more chances to snag good stuff. Vintage shopping IS more expensive there, but that's because a lot of it is designer and because the stores' buyers know what to look for when it comes to good clothing. But there's always excellent shopping if you know where to go and if you're willing to dedicate some time.
I wouldn't know about the Haight District, however, because that is not in L.A. It's in San Francisco. Sorry to pipe in, but Los Angeles always gets a bad rap, often from people who haven't explored it fully. Just like, say, Salt Lake City gets brushed off as the Mormon capital with no alternative scene or taste. The point of this blog was to end such misunderstandings.
